AIGA Flagler College Chapter
January 2011 – Present
Act as the liaison between the students and AIGA Jacksonville. Responsible for the formation and maintenance of the student group. Assist students in developing and completing community service design projects.
The main goals of the AIGA Flagler College Chapter are to foster an on-campus design community and to immerse students in the professional practice of design. Students have their own board of directors and meet regularly to develop yearly initiates and design-related campus events. Student members benefit from networking opportunities with local design professionals and by developing the leadership skills they need upon graduation.

Portfolio Review with Employers
Flagler College Graphic Design Majors
Organize on-campus Graphic Design portfolio reviews with local industry professionals and recruiters. Students have the opportunity to present their work and receive feedback prior to completing their final portfolios. Several students were offered employment as a result of participating in this event.

Flagler College Gargoyle, August 2010 – Present
Attend meetings regarding student issues related to content printed in the Gargoyle. Address questions and concerns regarding Gargoyle policies and procedures.
Computers, Technology and Research Resources Committee
Flagler College 2007-2008; 2009-2010; 2014-2015
Study, review, and recommend the needs for computers and technology to support the academic program and encourage faculty to integrate the use of computers and technology in their courses. Evaluate requested software programs for the continued integration of all departments and offices on campus. Develop a three-year plan for computers and technology and update annually. Respond to requests for training needs by recommending resources and trainers to meet the specific needs stated in the request.
Flagler College 2013-2014
Act as a communication channel for interdisciplinary academic program efforts that focus on sustainability and coordinate interdepartmental (e.g. campus planning, facilities management, and academic programming) efforts to enhance sustainability as appropriate. Coordinate student citizenship efforts within Keystone/Learning Community courses to facilitate sustainability projects on campus and in the broader community. Review, take inventory and formally record campus-wide accomplishments and policies that enhance sustainability. Evaluate campus-wide sustainability accomplishments with regard to achieving appropriate rating systems, such as U.S. Green Building Council’s STARS program. Communicate the results of sustainability efforts both on campus and within the larger community. Serve in an advisory capacity to professors wishing to incorporate sustainability into their courses.
Service Learning and Internship Committee
Flagler College 2011-2012
Define what service learning is on our campus. Conduct research on service learning activities by Flagler College faculty and by other institutions of higher education. Draft a set of policies and procedures for faculty members to follow while conducting off-campus learning activities required for course credit. Review Flagler College’s Foundations of Excellence study results at the end of the 2011-2012 school year in order to shape and discuss plans for implementing service learning courses at Flagler College in the future.
